Susan Steinberg

Susan serves as Middle School Counselor at HMS, having been an educator for just under 40 years. She holds a BS from SUNY Geneseo in Special Education: Preschool-12 (minor in Psych/English) and a Master’s degree from Fordham University in Counseling/Pupil Personnel Services. Susan is a permanently Certified NYS Special Education teacher and School Counselor. She was a middle school counselor in Wallkill and Marlboro public schools, having recently retired from Marlboro CSD after 33 years. Susan believes that students should be valued in a holistic atmosphere with an inclusive environment and a focus on creativity and self-expression. She has always had a passion for the energy and wonderment inherent in the challenges of working with middle level students as they begin their journey of figuring out who they are, and where they will best find a niche and a purpose. She’s happy to guide and advocate for them in that journey.
