Michelle Healy
Head of School
Michelle Healy is the current Head of School and a parent at High Meadow School in Stone Ridge. She came to the Hudson Valley from New York City, where she spent 17 years working in New York City Public and Charter Schools first as an elementary school reading and math tutor and working up to school leadership. Michelle went to NYU and Bank Street School for Children, where she cultivated the belief that educators should facilitate learning environments that promote wonder and inquiry and allow students to feel that their unique identities, learning styles, knowledge bases, and voices matter in the classroom. Along with being an elementary school classroom teacher, Michelle co-founded the Odyssey Initiative, which set out on a yearlong cross-country journey to document the lives and best practices of educators in American public schools, and co-founded Compass Charter School in Fort Greene, Brooklyn. She lives in Bloomington, NY with her husband Chris, child Lina, and dog Dottie.
