Tom Whalen

Tom was born and raised on Staten Island, where his life in education essentially began in his infancy at his mother’s Montessori School. He has lived in the Hudson Valley for over 20 years, having earned his BA and MA in English at SUNY New Paltz, where he taught writing and linguistics for nearly a decade. Tom’s lifelong passion for Early Childhood education has been bolstered by the joyful environment at High Meadow, where he is constantly inspired by the children’s seemingly boundless appetite for self-expression, discovery, and uncomplicated fun.
