About the Course
Welcome to Circus Arts! This class will offer the opportunity to learn basic tumbling including ground and partner acrobatics like cartwheels and dive rolls, clowning- including pratfalls and character development, and beginning aerial apparatus. We will also incorporate injury prevention, flexibility and strength training

Nicki Miller and Geneva Garland
NICKI MILLER (she/her) is an interdisciplinary theatre maker, aerial artist, performer, writer, and movement educator interested in art and performance that ignites the imagination, troubles the intellect, and nourishes the body. Nicki also works as a specialist integrating aerial arts into the dramaturgy and staging of theatre, opera, and dance productions since 2010. She was co-founding artistic director of Only Child Aerial Theatre (with Kendall Rileigh 2012-2021). Residencies include Cirkus Cirkör (Sweden), the New Victory LabWorks Program, the Santa Barbara Floor to Air Festival, Toronto Circus Sessions, 5th Wall Studio, and The Hupstate Circus Residency, among others. She currently teaches Aerial Arts for Pace University’s Sands College of Performing Arts and throughout the Hudson Valley to children and adults. Nicki holds an undergraduate degree in Drama from Syracuse University, several athletic and applied neuroscience training/coaching certifications, and an MFA in Theatre from Sarah Lawrence College. www.nickimiller.com
Geneva is a a former competitive gymnast from ACPR Maryland. She has studied dance at Maryland School of Ballet and Modern Dance and Adelphi University. She trained and performed circus arts including flying trapeze, Lyra and trampoline at the Espana-Streb Trapeze Academy and the Trapeze School of New York (now Circus Academy New York) in New York City and Wild Arts in New Paltz. She is also a team coach at Peak Gymnastics in Poughkeepsie
