Afterschool Classes

Afterschool classes are open to all children, including children from other schools and the homeschool community.

The Spring 2023 session runs from April (after Spring Break) through June. All Afterschool classes include a snack. Registration for Spring is now full (except for La Finca Futbol on Friday from 4-5pm) and Wayfinders on 5/17

For HMS families, play-based Aftercare for N-8th Grade is also available from 3-5PM.

SPRING 2023 SESSION

MONDAY CLASSES

Shakespeare with New Genesis Productions | 4-8th Grade | 3-5PM

Join the High Meadow Shakespeare Ensemble to learn and perform Shakespeare’s comedy, Twelfth Night. The final production will be at Market Street Studio during the week of Meadow MoCA in May. No experience necessary, just a curiosity and an interest in developing a play and performing. Visit their website to learn more about Lesley Sawhill and New Genesis productions. Please note these additional performance dates: Thursday, May 11, 2023 (dress rehearsal at Market Street Studio from 3-5PM) and Thursday, May 18, 2023 (performance of Twelfth Night at Market Street Studio at 6PM).

Session Fee: $300 (6 classes + performance, including one session for FREE)

DatesApril 17, 24, May 1, 8, 15 (plus May 11 + 18)

TUESDAY CLASSES

Dance | K-3rd Grade | 3-4PM

Dancers will improvise to a wide range of multicultural music, learn new skills and create fun dances.  They will experiment with stories, images, props, and show their dances periodically.  If there is interest among the group and if the weather cooperates, we may also experiment with place-based dances ...outside or under the arbor.

Session Fee: $240 (9 classes including one for FREE)

Dates: April 18, 25, May 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, June 6, 13 

WEDNESDAY CLASSES

Wayfinder Wednesday Half Days | 1st-8th Grade | 12-5PM

Wayfinder will be running a sampling of our programming at Wednesday Half Days (January 25, 2023 and February 15, 2023). This will feature our sword and improv programming, but also a small LARP allowing for participants to meet fantastical characters, play out adventure scenarios, and engage in imaginative, problem-solving play. We look forward to bringing a little bit of magic to the middle of the week with all of you!

Session Fee: $75/each class

Dates: April 26, 2023 and May 17, 2023

THURSDAY CLASSES

Imagination Theatre | K-1st Grade | 3-4PM [THIS CLASS IS BACK OPEN!]

Theatre is a unique and remarkable tool for building confidence, community and self-expression – and for having fun! This class for young students will explore theater through games, movement, improvisation and stories. We’ll also create puppets and masks and use them to tell stories from our imagination.

Session Fee: $240 (9 classes including one for FREE)

Dates: April 20, 27, May 4, 11, 18, 25, June 1, 8, 15

FRIDAY CLASSES

La Finca Futbol | K-3rd Grade | 3-4PM

La Finca’s approach to futbol development starts with a focus on individual ball mastery and community building around the sport of futbol. In addition to physical developments in strength, agility and balance, the ball mastery training activities improve the child’s focus and concentration that supports academic success as well. These clinics are designed for beginner to intermediate players. There will be a minimum of two experienced coaches per session and a maximum of 20 players. Necessary sports equipment is provided. Children must have appropriate soccer footwear for indoor use. Shoes already in use for PE are just fine. 

 

For families who need coverage, Aftercare is available as an add-on from 4-5PM for $15/day.

Session Fee: $240 (9 classes including one for FREE)

Dates: April 21, 28, May 5, 12, 19, June 2, 9, 16 (Classes on June 16th will be at a special time from 12PM-2PM due to a 1/2 day dismissal. All age groups can attend the special 2 hour class! Aftercare also goes from 12-3pm).

REGISTRATION
INFORMATION

Payment

Please complete individual registration for each student. Families can choose to pay in full at the time of registration; a monthly payment option is also available. Only families receiving financial aid for tuition are eligible for a reduced rate. All families must be in good financial standing to register their children for after school classes, including sports; as well as aftercare. Changes and Cancellations

If you decide to cancel or change enrollment after the first class meeting, you will be eligible for a full refund and no fees will be charged. If you decide to cancel or change enrollment after the second class meeting or later, refunds are prorated and there is a $50 administrative charge. 

  • Withdrawals the second week (April 24th-28th) are 100% refundable

  • Withdrawals prior to the fourth week (April 28th-May 12th) are 50% refundable

  • Withdrawals after five weeks (May 19th) are nonrefundable.

No Obligation Trial Class
If you’re not sure about registering your child for Afterschool classes, we have added the option to sign up for a trial session for the first week of class. Should you decide to register after the first class, you will use the regular registration process for full payment, installments, or financial assistance.

Adding on Aftercare

Most Afterschool classes run from 3-4PM. For families who need additional coverage, play-based Aftercare is available until 5PM. You can reserve a space for your child on the days you need coverage. Charges for Aftercare will continue to be billed monthly via FACTS based on actual student attendance. 

Pick Up

Students will be dismissed outside on the quad. Please park so you can check out your student in person with the Afterschool teacher.

Policy

All students must be fully vaccinated to attend Afterschool classes. There must be enrollment of 6-12 children for each class to run.
