Our campus is located on nearly ten wooded acres in Stone Ridge, New York. Outdoor education, like field studies, environmental science, sustainability initiatives, and creative play, helps students develop a sense of independence, gain confidence, practice problem-solving skills, and learn how to collaborate.

We've been a part of the High Meadow community for nearly five years now. Our children are in first grade and 3s, and my husband teaches humanities to 7th and 8th graders, while I'm a class parent. As a family, we are fully committed to High Meadow, and we have two primary reasons for choosing this school.

First, High Meadow's curriculum is rooted in curiosity, which means that our children are encouraged to explore and discover new things independently. As a result, they come home excited to share what they've learned each day, and this fosters a sense of curiosity that we believe will help them become successful and resilient adults. Unfortunately, many schools don't prioritize this kind of learning, and we appreciate that High Meadow does.

Second, the sense of community at High Meadow is incredibly strong. Our kids know all the parents and teachers, and the campus feels like a village where everyone is supportive and there for each other. As same-sex parents, we feel particularly cherished and supported, and this is reflected in our children's desire to go to school every day. It's tough to tell them that there's no school on Saturdays!
