Enrichment Programs During the School Year
High Meadow School offers many enrichment opportunities for both HMS students and the community at large. We offer a rich selection of programming through our On the Meadow course list which include after-school, before-school, extended vacation, parent/child, and summer camp opportunities. Also available are private music lessons and academic tutoring. Bussing is available after-school from Rondout to High Meadow.
Athletics are focused on building technical skills, endurance, and flexibility, and encouraging collaboration and leadership within the experience of team sports. Our program cultivates ethics such as determining your personal best, supporting teammates, and a mindset in which losses are opportunities to improve. All of our teams are co-ed. We currently have Soccer, Volleyball, Basketball, and Badminton teams.
and Vacation Enrichment
Our After-School Enrichment Programs offers opportunities for students from High Meadow and the larger community to pursue their interests and passions, with a diverse range of choices including art, gymnastics, archery, drama, music ensembles, dance, game-making and more. Our Fall 2019 programs are running now. Check back soon for details about our next season!
Before & After School Care
School hours are from 8:45am to 3pm, M-F. Free busing is available to students living in the Rondout Valley, New Paltz, Onteora and Kingston school districts.
If parents need to drop off early or pick up late, High Meadow offers the convenience of supervised Before Care (8:15-8:45am) and After Care (3-5:30pm) for a small hourly fee.
High Meadow provides private tutoring services for students who need support or enrichment in all subject areas. Students with dyslexia will have access to Orton Gillingham trained tutors. Tutoring services are not included in tuition.
Parent Child Programs
Music Together offers fun & engaging 45-minute classes for children infants through age 4 and their parents or caregivers, Saturdays, 9:15 AM – 10:00 AM in the Dance Studio. Plan to be silly while we build fundamental tonal and rhythmic skills by singing many age-appropriate songs especially arranged for a young child’s voice. Class involves movement, singing, dancing and playing and exploring many percussive instruments and props: shakers, bells, scarves, balls, drums and more. The structure of our class flows well for young children and is not too physically taxing for the adults.
