Next week, High Meadow School will close for one day only, Monday, March 16th, 2020.

Teachers and administrators will use this day to prepare for online learning, should we need to suspend in-person classes for a longer period of time due to COVID-19.

Please note that May 22nd, which was reserved as a make-up day for snow closures, will now become a planned school day.

If you have not done so already, please respond now to our online learning accessibility surveyTeachers will refer to your responses in their planning.

Again, this closure is for one day only and will be used for professional development work.

We have also decided to postpone the Variety Show scheduled for this Saturday, March 14th.

We will also postpone the rehearsal set for Friday. A new date is yet to be determined.

Finally, we are suspending all-school and large-group gatherings during the school day.

We regret the loss of connection across grades, but believe it’s important to take steps to protect the health of our community and the general public.

We’re sorry for the inconvenience and disappointments that taking these precautions may cause.

Guided by the Ulster County Department of Health and New York State Association of Independent Schools, we feel obligated to exercise caution, and we take seriously our role in mitigating the effects of COVID-19.

We encourage you to speak with your child(ren) about why we are making these changes to our routines, and how they help to protect everyone.

This may help prevent undue feelings of anxiety, as well as create an opportunity for them to ask questions.

We deeply appreciate your cooperation as we make our best effort to respond to this developing situation. If you have questions, please be in touch via the main phone number, 845-687-4855.
