High Meadow School's Preschool program offers a warm, stimulating, child-centered environment that supports both the growth of the individual and awareness of membership in a school community.
Our preschool program emphasizes play and the natural environment, providing daily opportunities for growth and exploration that honor each child’s readiness and interests.
Inspired in part by the Reggio Emilia approach, teachers allow space for student interests to emerge and develop, supporting their curiosity, creativity, and cooperation around the authentic inquiries of the group.
At the same time, predictable rhythms and routines -- including regular extracurricular offerings like dance, music, art, physical education, and Spanish -- give children a sense of security and ownership within their classroom and school environments.
The foundation of our preschool program is respect for each child’s natural capacity for constructing knowledge, making connections, creating meaning, and forming interpersonal bonds.
