The Annual Fund at High Meadow School FAQs
Why is the Annual Fund important? Fundraising is essential to maintain the strength of our extraordinary programs and to retain our outstanding professionals. Charitable gifts are a necessary part of every independent school’s healthy financial profile.
Why doesn’t High Meadow School just increase tuition? Raising tuition would likely result in the loss of many valuable students whose families cannot afford the increase. A drop in enrollment would lead to cuts in both educational programs and staff. Equally as important, High Meadow School highly values its diversity. Keeping tuition affordable assists in maintaining our vibrant community, which is part of what makes our school so special.
Why is 100% participation so crucial? Your participation in the Annual Fund not only shows your financial support, it represents your moral support as well. Many corporations and foundations ask for our school’s Annual Fund participation rating when deciding whether or not to provide us with additional funding.
I can’t afford to give much. Does my small gift really make a difference? YES! Every gift truly makes a difference. Our K-8 school has fewer supporters than larger K-12 independent schools or universities, and therefore it is even more critical to have a higher percentage of supporters. Your gift, when added to those of other supporters, can have a large impact.
When should I make my annual fund gift or pledge? The earlier we receive your gift, the earlier we can put it to work for all our students. We encourage all families to make their pledges by December 31, though payments are accepted until June 30, 2017.
Is High Meadow School eligible for employer matching gifts? Yes! Please ask your employer about Matching Gift Programs that support K–12 schools. This is a great way to double your gift to High Meadow School.
