Welcome to High Meadow School

Each family’s path to High Meadow is unique.

As families have continued to relocate to the Hudson Valley during the COVID-19 pandemic, we have had an increased interest in our school. At this time, we have reached enrollment capacity for the 2021/22 school year.

We are grateful to have new students from the local area, New York City, across the United States, and overseas. For everyone who joins us, and especially those new to the region, High Meadow works to support families and children during their transition to a new home and new community.

Hope for the Future Scholarship

High Meadow School is honored to announce its partnership with the Helen’s Hope Foundation and the very generous donation from the foundation to establish the Hope for the Future Scholarship.

The full scholarship will be offered to a child of color in financial need for each year they attend HMS, after being accepted to the school through our regular admissions process.

Rising Kindergarten-6th Grade students who do not currently attend High Meadow School are eligible.

The deadline to apply is April 30, 2021 and the scholarship award will be made by May 28, 2021.

The Admissions Application Process
Learn about High Meadow's six-step school admissions application process below, then get started by filling out an Inquiry Form!
Questions? Contact Director of Admissions Jen Bousilman at (845) 687-4855 or admissions@highmeadowschool.org.
Admissions Inquiry
Any time of year, families may complete this simple Inquiry Form to begin learning about enrollment possibilities.

Parent Interview and Tour
Prospective families meet with an administrator remotely, or per an outdoor campus tour, to learn and ask questions about our school and share more about their child(ren). If the family opts for an outdoor campus tour, their temperatures are taken and they complete the health screening.
Teacher Recommendation
Prior to Application, we ask that a current teacher complete a Teacher Recommendation Form for each applicant. The Director of Admissions will provide the link to the form for you to forward to your child's current teacher(s).
Admissions Application
Families provide information about themselves and their child(ren) in advance of a Student Interview (Step Five) by completing our Admissions Application. The Director of Admissions will provide the link to the application.
Student Interview
Given the pandemic, in lieu of classroom visits, the student is invited for an interview on campus with the Director of Admissions. High Meadow asks the student to bring a portfolio or work samples to share with the Director of Admissions. We will contact you to plan your child’s visit after receiving your Teacher Recommendation (Step Three) and Admissions Application (Step Four).
Admissions Decision
During the admissions review process, teachers and administrators discuss their observations of the prospective student, consider work samples from the day of the child's visit, and recommendations from the child's current teacher(s). Usually, a decision about admission is made within a week of the child's visit, (assuming all parts of the application are complete), and then the family is informed.
