For a single day each year, the High Meadow campus transforms into an interactive science museum — free and open to all — with hands-on activities packed into every square inch!
This year, we’re bringing a real planetarium to campus! The StarLab is a portable, inflatable dome that allows viewers to get up close and personal with our solar system in a magical, unforgettable atmosphere.
“This year’s Bright Ideas Festival will be bigger and better than ever!” says lead organizer Rochelle Victor. “Our goal is to inspire and celebrate the importance of creative problem-solving and invention. Each year, we form new partnerships with the members of our community who bring incredible STEM education to children.”
Space is the focus of this year’s festival, and Mad Science of the Hudson Valley returns with a special performance of “Space Spectacular,” which explores the physics of weightlessness, the laws of motion and gravity, and involves an audience member shooting across the room in a Rocket Car.
Bright Ideas is also an Open House admissions event for families interested in learning more about our school, with staff on hand to provide information about our programs and the application process.
