Admissions Process at High Meadow School

Admissions Phase 1:  Contacting the School (845) 687-4855

K – 3rd Grade: For questions or to set-up an appointment, please contact Doris Gonzalez Easton by calling the school or sending an e-mail to: doris@highmeadowschool.org

4th – 8th Grade:  For questions or to set-up an appointment, please contact Michelle Hughes by calling the school or sending an e-mail to: michelle@highmeadowschool.org

Admissions Phase 2:  The Parent Interview
At the parent interview you will meet with either the Lower School Coordinator, Doris Gonzalez-Easton (K – 3rd Grade), or the Head of School, Michelle Hughes (4th -8th Grade).  At this meeting, you will discuss your child, hear about the school, and you will receive:

Admissions Phase 3:  The Student Visit
Previous to, or at the time of your child’s visit you must submit the application and $75.00 fee.
Your child will come to visit for the morning in the lower school (K -3rd) and a full day in the upper school (4th – 8th).  In the 3rd through 8th grades she/he will be given a math and writing sample to complete.  We will ask that you leave at this time so that we can get a more accurate view of your child.
Please alert us to any allergies your child has, or any medications they take on the day of their visit.

Admissions Phase 4:  The Decision Process
The teachers bring their observations and work samples from your child to the weekly admissions meeting, where a decision for admittance will be made.  At this time we may have more questions and will contact you for more information about your child or to request an additional visit.  We base our acceptance or rejection of students on the following considerations, not all necessarily in order of importance:

You will hear from the school in no more than two weeks from the visit (except in the months of February and March). We ask that you not attempt to contact teachers directly about your child’s visit or the admissions process.
