Academics:

In the early 80's, a group of parents guided by the school's founder, Mimi Labourdette, became active in creating an elementary school that would embody the vision they had for their children. In 1984, High Meadow School emerged from this dream, and opened at Brook Farm at the foot of Mohonk Mountain. The natural beauty of the setting inspired the creation of a progressive education-based program that included the celebration of the awe-inspiring surroundings. The school eventually outgrew the Brook Farm house and moved into a 150 year-old brick mansion in Stone Ridge. Achieving both financial and academic success, the school was soon able to purchase the building and surrounding property, and added an annex to house the growing student base. In 2002, a new building for the upper school was built with a fully equipped science lab. |
